Crime Scene Unit

Victoria Police Department Crime Scene Unit BadgeThe Crime Scene Unit is made up of a Police Sergeant and 3 civilian technicians under the direction of an Investigations Lieutenant. Our duties in this department include the following:

  • Maintain and secure all evidence and found property that comes through the Victoria Police Department
  • Crime Scene processing
  • Attend all autopsies
  • In house processing of evidence in our lab
  • Organize and present programs for the local Civilian Police Academy as well as in house training

Property Recovery

Crime Scene Unit is a 24-hour on call unit.  We encourage all citizens to contact the unit prior to arrival to insure that staff is available.  In order to obtain your property, a valid photo ID is required.

Fingerprinting Services

Fingerprinting services are available at the Victoria Police Department, located at
306 S. Bridge Street
Victoria, TX 77901

  • Call 485-3788 to make an appointment.
  • Fee: $5 first card - $2 each additional card charge
    The Police Department can only accept cash or check.

Cards

  • Generally, most fingerprint cards are provided by the requestor.  Please confirm with the entity requesting fingerprints prior to arrival.  If a card is not supplied, the Police Department will have one available.
  • You must show a valid photo ID to be fingerprinted.
  • Records Section will direct you to the Crime Scene Unit for printing.

Note: Police personnel cannot provide fingerprinting for immigration purposes. For information about immigration fingerprinting requirements, please visit U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Los de la Sección de Archivos lo dirigirán a la Unidad de la Escena del Crimen (CSU) para la impresión.
